As the hours pass by the last minute preparations are made in our Convent home.
Sister Mary Ann is getting the table trimmed for our Christmas dinner.
How many are coming tomorrow?
These napkins are coming.
I like the fanned look.
An elegant table awaits the guests.
Sister Kathleen is busy in our chapel.
The tree is trimmed and now Sister Kathleen is on the ladder.
Blue and white sheer material and lights!
It looks like Sister is going behind the tree to the tabernacle.
The cross to the tabernacle…
The crib, the cross and the Ciborium!
St. Francis loved these three symbols of God’s tremendous love for us.
What is Sister Kathleen doing now?
The back wall of our chapel!
Amazing!
As the evening hours close in on us we gather to bless our Christmas tree and our Nativity scene.
Behold, this is our God. We have waited for Him
The Gospel according to St. Luke…
So the shepherds went with haste…
…and found Mary and Joseph and the Babe lying in the manger.
“St. Francis’ biographer, Thomas of Celano, recalls that Francis “stood before the manger…overcome with love and filled with a wonderful happiness…” For Francis, the simple celebration was meant to recall the hardships Jesus suffered even as an infant, a savior who chose to become poor for our sake, a truly human Jesus.”
