Our evening was comfortable, temperatures were mild, and the sky was clear awaiting the full moon. All was in readiness including the wood for the fire soaked in last year’s holy oils, the candles for the congregation and the music for the celebration.

God provides his own light with the full moon’s glow while Father Greg and Father Thang light the new fire. The majestic paschal candle is lit and the celebration begins. Sister Elena proclaimed the beautiful Scripture taken from the Book of Exodus and Father Greg prepared to proclaim the glorious Gospel of Easter.

St. Francis parish had the joy of witnessing all the Sacraments of Initiation. 4 children were baptized in the waters of the baptismal pool. Two adults were confirmed and made their first holy communion. The community celebrated in song, applause and finally with a little reception after the liturgy.
…Christ, your son has come back from death’s domain and has shed his peaceful light on humanity, and lives and reigns for ever and ever.
