October 8, 2016 was the date set for St. Francis of Assisi School to hold their annual Fall Festival. The days before were busy with preparations.
- The construction of a straight and sturdy wall to display the Silent Auction items
- Railing set off the space dedicated to the Silent Auction.
- The “wedding tent” goes up…
- …the perfect place for outdoor Bingo!
And the day begins…
- 6:00 a.m. and the chicken is on the grill.
- 6:05a.m. and Sister Kathleen is mixing the face paints.
- Hula Hoop contest for the young people
- Push up contest for the guys
- Sister Kathleen sells wristbands for the games outside.
- Sister Elena works at the Ticket Table and sneaking a few cheese nachos!
- Sister Judy is busy helping St. Francis students find the right sized boots, a special gift for the Festival.
- Once everything is in place Sister Elena and Kathy enjoy a little time together watching the crowd.
The weather could not have been nicer and regardless of the age, there seemed to be fun for everyone.

The Silent Auction offered about 20 items, while several raffle items included a Vizio 65-inch Smart TV and a Regions Bank adult bicycle.
- As the afternoon activities unfolded, the workers enjoyed the crowd’s enthusiasm and showed their own “happy dance”!
