Maybe you love to serve as one who arranges the liturgical environment as I do. It is a joy to work in the House of the Lord and to bring some of the Creator’s beauty within the walls to honor Him. This ministry is so much more than decorating. Each arrangement brought into the holy space is to speak of the season or the holy day celebrated by all those of faith who enter this space to pray.
As November unfolds, we keep in mind the time to honor all of the Saints and all of the Holy Souls. We also look forward to the Feast of Christ the King and our national moment of Thanksgiving. In thinking of all this, take a look at our chapel and check the captions of the photos to share the inspiration behind the arrangements.
- Jesus comes to break the bars of death’s prison. Also this creation calls to mind the interweaving of our saintly moments with our moments of selfishness.
- Our magnolia leaves take on black and golden hues to repeat the reminder of the interplay of darkness and light in our lives.
- Among the leaves are images of the patron saints of each Sister in our house.
- St. Francis blesses us all.
- Our little “book box” holds the names of all the deceased for whom we pray at each Mass.
