The Franciscan Sisters of Greenwood, MS. were excited to welcome four of our Sisters from the Motherhouse for a visit.
- All gathered in our chapel for Prayer of Christians and Mass
- Sisters Kathleen and Anne sharing an enjoyable moment
- No lack of conversation between Sisters Francis and Judy
- All relaxed together that evening and welcomed our guest, Priscilla.
The following day was filled with visiting the classrooms, a tour of Greenwood, catching up with friends and in the evening, decorating the Civic Center for Mardi Gras.
- As we gather Father Greg gets everyone “organized”!
- First off Sister Elena and Jerianne begin to set up and wash the chairs at all of the tables.
- Time for a pizza break!
- Beads go everywhere even in the center pieces.
- Sister Annette under the tutelage of Sister Kathleen helps trim the band stand and stage.
- Sister Francis offers to help Sisters Jerianne and Anne.
- OK, we need to get the Mardi Gras masks and streamers repaired.
- Seriously we have to decorate this John Deere tractor and trailer???
- Hey, They did a great job!
- Sister Mary Ann getting the table centerpieces looking just right.
- Sister Anne our Community’s Nurse Practitioner meets our Greenwood Nurse Practitioner!
The task was complete much more quickly due to the energetic help of our Sisters.
- An area suited for basketball was transformed into a place for a Mardi Gras dinner and dance.
The Sisters’ visit went all too fast for us. With just a little time left for a few rounds of Cribbage and some sharing, they needed to be off to Mound Bayou, MS. to visit our Sisters there and learn about their work at St. Gabriel Mercy Center. Mound Bayou is on their route home to Manitowoc.
- Sister Elena enjoying a win over Sister Anne!
- Sister Judy renewing memories with Sister Mary Ann.
- Buckling up and and wishing them safe travel.
